New home, red couch, darker hardwood floors...suggestions on wall color, etc, please!?

Ok so I just bought a house in austin. I'm set on getting this red couch from sofa mart (antelope). I've read thru some others who've had similar questions about wall colors and such with this color of couch. What I really would like to know is who's pulled off a room like this. I mean the whole shibang from window accents to wall color to coffee table, etc. I'm getting to start from scratch, so I'm open to options. Most important is wall color. I've read a few suggestions ranging from tan, gray, blondish yellow, gold, purple, etc. I'd like to do something besides white, but I'm not sure where that would leave me for window treatments and then coffee table and end tables. Does anyone have specific paint numbers from sherwin-williams, behr, or where ever? I'm also thinking of some faux finishes. Suggestions? If you've got these what color did you go for on your window treatment and tables. I'm also thinking of including some bambo in a vase somewhere. Help please!

Creme Brule..like the dessert from home depot. Faux finish not good if u have kids, pets, or accumulate dirt. Sage green, antique bronze finishes, black, and wrought iron will all look good. Mix black furniture with dark woods. Add prints with window treatments and pillows.
