What's wrong with my strawberry plants?
I received a few strawberry plants from a lady who had them in her garden, the roots on the plants are already well established. I put about five of them in a long planter box and watered them well. They are very green and new leaves are growing. They seem to be doing well, except the edges on some of them are starting to brown. They have good dirt, a lot of sun and are well watered. What am I doing wrong?
A few possibilities. Too much water will cause oxygen starvation of the roots and cause leaf edges to turn brown. Too much fertilizer or accidental chemicals such as spilled chlorine will do the same. Hot dry winds can cause the younger leafs to burn on the edges.
