Spraying Car with water in Shade but no Hand Dry?

What i do to my Honda prelude is just spray it with water in the shade until all the bird poop and dirt comes off. Is that ok for the car's paint, or do i have to hand dry the car? And should i use soap with the car if i do this method on a weekly basis?
I just want to add, i want to the mainly just spray the car down and let it dry on it's own. What would be the best method.

Buy good quality car paint cleaner, conditioner, and wax. I like Meguiars products. 2 times a year you use these products and the rest of the year you can simply spray with water (in shade after paint cools) and sponge if necessary. No soap. Chamois dry and it will look like a show car. Use touch-up spray for tough spots or bird crap right away.

I have a black car and this works wonderfully for me.
