i have a piece of pottery and i would like to find out who it was made by?

it is a jug black and white in colour and i seem to think it has come from a set but i do not have the others this would be easier if i could add a photo of it but i dont see the option for that so i dont think i will have much luck but any ideas would be very much appreciated.

What does the stamp on the bottom say or look like? Is there a date?
