Indianapolis 30th Birthday Party?

I'm trying to throw a party for a friend who is turning 30. There will be men and women at this party and I'm trying to find an activity to fit all guests. The honoree would like an actual activity before going out to dinner/clubs. Some potentional ideas have been: going to a local winery to make wine (this will limit the number of guests to this event) or going to Kiln Kreations to make pottery (not really guy friendly).
I was hoping other Indianapolis folks would have some other ideas or suggestions.
The event will take place on a Saturday in October. Several people are coming in from out of town, so travelling to another city would be out of the question.
