Is it appropriate for our Catholic au pair to come with us to Good Friday and Easter masses?

Generally, when my wife's around, our au pair isn't, and they seem to have opposite personalities and are rather cold to each other.

But we're all Roman Catholic, including Krystka from Poland, and the kids are in Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, then we are planning to go to Easter Mass. Krystka told me today that she'd like to go to the masses, but knows that my wife "likes to play mom on weekends." (To complicate matters, my young daughter called Krystka "mommy" at Thanksgiving and my wife dropped a platter of cookies in disgust.)

Anyway, it would be very un-Christian to deny Krystka her religion, so I sent my wife an e-mail at work suggesting we all could go together.

My wife, who usually doesn't reply to my messages, shot back:
"Why not? No one will mistake her for Virgin Mary. lol"

If you've read my previous posts, it's highly likely my wife is having an affair, and Krystka, while lithe, fit and a nice dresser, has shown no signs of promiscuity. Why jealousy?

Why wouldn't she be jealous? If you are noticing the much younger and much prettier Krystka... Think about it a second...or 2 if you need to....I'll come back to it....

To the original question - Yes you should totally include her in your Easter outings. You are correct, it would be rude to keep her from her religion that way. Your wife shouldn't have a problem with this at all.

As to your wife's response, I don't even know your wife but from what you say, why would you expect anything different??? Besides that, why the heck wouldn't she be jealous of Krystka???? She's younger, firmer, prettier and getting alot of your attention. And your wife....stuck in the office (or the corner if you will). It wouldn't surprise me if you pushed your wife so far away from you because you are so unhappy that she felt like she needed some positive attention and that's why she went to "timdawg" or whoever. Stop being overly critical of your wife who helps you to have the relaxed lifestyle you have!

You also seem to be over analyzing your relationship with Krystka. Is it because people think you are cheating on your wife with her? If we think that, what do you think your wife thinks? Rule of thumb, If you feel guilty then it's not right.

(Sorry I'm a little cranky cause I couldn't sleep last night and can't seem to get to sleep tonight either)
