Painting the Landscape Nude, Without Vegetation
Here in this article, an honest endeavor is done to provide some clue and guidance about how to paint a landscape. This article would try throwing light on various aspect of the theme.
Landscape painting is an art of painting the greenery on earth: the trees, the meadows, the green valleys, rain and the snowfall. But there had been painters who had painted the Mother Earth in her every shade, in every form. The greenery is a cover on earth, the beautiful clothes our mother earth has put on her. The barren earth looks like a nude woman. But some of the artists have embedded beauty in such barren form of the earth, too.
Those who have painted deserts and bare mountains of land mass without green cover of the grass might have find their work more difficult. It is really a challenging task. Here they would have fewer subjects to depict the concept of beauty. But if some of the paintings done by master painter Caspar David Friedrich are evidences, these artists have never found any difficulty in painting the barren land, the nude and uncovered areas of land.
If we look at Caspar David Friedrich's paintings, especially at the landscapes of the mountains, we get the detailed view. We can see that there is no presence of vegetation in this area under painting. When we run our eyes to the distant mountains having lesser detail, we fail to find green substances. Though these artworks are the painting of barren mountains, they have their own beauty.
