Lord A.P.McCoy- is this too much too ask for?
I will lay my cards on the table here, and admit that Flat Racing is my premier sporting love, but if I had to put my little all on any Jockey to get my Horse over the line it would be A.P.
There is a lovely quote in Monday's Express from an article by Rolf Johnson:
"...he is a hero who has built himself a pedestal from which he can never be unseated by lesser mortals".
I know he has the O.B.E, but given that Collingwood has got one of those for scoring about 9 in an Ashes series, surely McCoy should get a Knighthood at least?

He'll have to wait until he's at least an old man to get that accolade.
He's probably the greatest sportsman around at the moment yet his momentous achievement yesterday didn't even warrant a mention on the evening news. People outside of racing just don't appreciate what he's done.
If AP were to ride the winner of every race at Cheltenham next month and went on to ride the Grand National winner with a broken rein he probably still wouldn't even make it to the shortlist for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. They'd still probably give it to a bloke on a push bike.
