Turn Your Kitchen Into French Country With Cabinet Handles
If you've considered implementing a traditional and welcoming French country theme into your kitchen, you've probably already decided that it's not going to be a cheap endeavor. Although it depends on what size remodeling project you're considering - you can easily achieve this popular style in your home without spending a fortune. Kitchen remodeling is typically paired with the ideas of outside labor, taking time off of work, and extremely high costs. If you're looking to give your kitchen the French country look without any of these elements coming into play, there are many choices available to you.
One great example of how you can add French country detail into your kitchen is through cabinet handles. Cabinets are a vital element of each and every kitchen. Since they're already installed in most kitchens, you're simply enhancing the features of something that's there to begin with. Although kitchens aren't notoriously small spaces, they still need to be uncluttered since a lot of activity takes place there. Knobs and pulls in your kitchen act as not only the finishing touches on your cabinets, but decorative pieces within the kitchen. Like end table lamps and throw pillows in your living room, cabinet handles are the decorative details of a kitchen. Without them, your overall theme could be compromised. Small elements like these help pull together the overall décor of the kitchen and can add some extra pizzazz where it's needed.
Intricate and elegant details on French country style cabinet handles could be all that you need to add in order to give your room that French country feel you're looking for. Instead of replacing the cabinets themselves, you can simply place the focus on the cabinet hardware. Think of the knobs and pulls as more of an accessory than a necessity. Although these are required in order for your kitchen to be fully functional, they are also major decorative elements. Just as you would place knickknacks on an empty bookshelf, or a vase of flowers on a lonely coffee table - your cabinets require the same attention. Kitchen remodeling is easily accomplished through small do-it-yourself projects like these. Without the requirement of many tools, this task could be accomplished by just about home owner.
Another major advantage of just concentrating on improving the details in your kitchen is the fact that you don't have to worry about replacing or moving the large appliances each kitchen houses. You won't have to rack your brain thinking of new plumbing set ups, and you won't have to deal with the issues that come along with rerouting your electrical systems. These are some common headaches that come along with most kitchen remodeling projects, but in order to make your kitchen French country friendly, you won't have to worry about any of them. Although these small details may not be the first thing you think of changing, you'll thank yourself in the long run when your wallet is still full and your kitchen is beautiful.
So instead of rushing out to buy a new kitchen table and chairs set, take a look around your kitchen. Pay extra attention to the details that you would otherwise overlook. What are your current knobs and pulls doing for the look and feel of your room? Are your cabinets being properly complimented by your current cabinet hardware? If you're going for the French country look, are they working with your theme? If you feel like your cabinet handles are lacking, just place some concentration on your cabinet hardware, and you'll be on your way to a warm and coordinated French country style kitchen in no time.

I need an antique vase appraisal and possible history?
I have a Kaufmann vase,13 3/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide at the center.. yellow background with Victoria Austria painted scene of a man and woman, 2 handles trimmed in gold, flowers on center back, gold trim around the top and bottom of vase. It has the number 256 stamped on the bottom in gold. It has Austria stamped in blue and a lined figure with a D in one corner of it. It also has what looks like a 12 imprinted into the base before finishing. I am curious about the history and value of the vase. It was given to my grandmother in 1930.My grandmother was told it was over 100 years old then. If anyone can give me any info on this vase please email me . Thank you
