Glazed Art Pottery

Pottery question?
I'm doing a pottery unit with my art class. We're making pots using the coil method. We have an Earthenware Glaze from Speedball. Do we glaze the pots before or after they are fired?
while you can glaze pots before they are fired it is much easier to do after they are fired for the first time, less breakage and you can wash a glaze off if you change your mind.
This firing is usually done at a lower temperature than your glaze (second) firing and called bisque firing.
Have fun.
