How many hours a week, on average, would a Law Professor work?
How is time divided between teaching classes, doing one’s on research and publishing, serving on committees and doing whatever else a law professor does?
Probably about 60-70 hours a week would be average. That's what it would be in my field. Teaching classes is only a few hours, but preparing for classes (along with grading and office hours) can take 20 hours a week. Then there's probably at least 10 hours for department and committee meetings. The rest of the week gets filled in with research and writing. Professors basically work as many hours as they can without going completely insane.
