Where can I find a Dala Horse (Swedish)?

I'm trying to find one in stores without ordering it online. If anybody could give me a list of stores where I might be able to find them that would be great. I live in New York, not Sweden (by the way). And I prefer to find one in a store that is easy to find, not an authentic shop. Thank-you! If you are unsure, that's okay.

Also... how popular is Pipp Longstocking in modern day Sweden?

Try Scandinavia House - they have a holiday shop at this time of the year. Phone them first - to check if they are selling dalahästar . dala horses. Ikea might be another option. They sometimes sell them too.
By the way, Pippi is extremely popular here but more the traditional versions as written by Astrid Lindgren. The modern American cartoon version is not popular here in Sweden. Check out the Astrid Lindgren's World website. Click on the British flag to get the English version. My ´5 year old daughter, Lovisa, adores Pippi.
