Vintage McCoy planters, how to clean?
I recently purchased some really nice vintage McCoy ceramic planters. They were definately used for many years. Does anybody know of a way to get the hard water and salt deposits out of the saucers that are attached to the pot? I've tried soaking in white vinegar, but it didn't even make a dent. Any suggestions would be great. I would really like to use these again, but want to make sure my plants stay healthy.
If I were fortunate to own a McCoy planter I certainly wouldn't use it for plants. It would be far too valuable to risk anything happening to it. I would put it on a shelf and love it for years. If you insist on using it, hard water deposits will not harm the plants.
