Why did my purple candle turn blue?

I've had this light lavender colored candle sitting on my computer desk for quite some time now and I noticed there was a huge mass of blue surrounded by some white looking stuff. I started to poke the blue-ish looking stuff with a pen from the surface going down and the whole candle started to turn a gross light brownish color. I dug the candle out of the holder it was in and examined it further and found the bottom was somewhat up risen and also blueish like the side. I hope someone here can help me out with this baffling mishap. Thanks, Nicole.
Also, the candle has never been lit.

wax was impregnated with dye.
candle was lit.
candle warmed.
wax and dye flowed (heat might even have also affected the dye itself)
coloration pattern changed.
