I am going to have to say that the St. Louis Cardinals are taking a big risk on signing Matt Clement to a one year deal. But emember it will be a club option for 2009. so changes are that the Cardinals might not re-sign him to a new deal. And if you take a look at the story, it does mention about them taking a risk. It is hard to say how Matt Clemt will do in 2008, and he hasn't pitched in the Majors since 2006. Plus the fact that he will be able to make more homecomings to Wrigley Field, then when he was a member of the Boston Red Sox. And I can't say how Chicago Cubs fans will re-act the first time they see him in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform. But they are saying that he will be a starter if he is healthy, but I don't know what he will be if he is not.
